This Is Rosa a celebrated bitch of the time when Bullbaiting was legal ,it is dated 1817 ,it is taken from an original which belongs and hangs at the Kennel Club in the UK .This dog was the original one used for bullbaiting it actually resembles a pit bull type and obviously we would not want todays bulldog to be 'fit for that function'
The enthusiasts of the day who prevented the demise of the dog in the period created a new standard the very first standard in the world as a blue print for the dog that we have today .
This website is meant to show how the original standard has been usd in the interpretation and can still be used by breeders today .
